emoisdead review
OK folks, found a new music "zine," thanks to the kids at utah-rock.com. Not only is it UTAH!'s "favorite review" of the new album, but a great read to boot.

I decided to reprint the review here since it's a hefty scroll on www.emoisdead.com:

"UTAH! - plays well with others (bifocal media)
Bifocal is my label of the year 2003. What amazing bands, Serotonin, Goner and now: Utah!. Utah aren't, similar to Goner, not one of the usual rock bands. Instead of a bass player they have a girl who plays the cello. Uh oh, boring you think? Nada. Intense guitar melodies, warm cello riffs and a weird singer are only a short description of what these dudes and the dudette have created. The record starts with the song Pick Up The Boom and seriously; it made me sing along, jumping around in my room about 20 times in a row. The last song which did that to me was Fugazi's Ex-Spectator, and maybe sensitive for emotional rawness in songs, but that's ok with me, as long as Utah! make this kind of music. This album creates an own kind of a kind world having parts in it which are bigger than 95% of the crap that comes out every day. Big big big stuff!"

you should check out the rest of the site, though, www.emoisdead.com is the best concept to roll around since www.bifocalmedia.com.

emo is dead.

oops UTAH! did it again
The new LA video is up at Bifocal Media's site. The director and robot dancer have worked with one of the most well known obnoxious pop divas ...Can you tell?

It's in Quick Time format and it's dark and very...very...interesting.

and who decided dressing indie kids up in suits was cool? now I know what they mean by "monkey suits" the ever elusive "they"
